Ranter!

YouthNet

The opportunity

TheSite.org has short-term opportunities for volunteers to write rants for our real life section. Aspiring journalists: this is your chance to get a piece of work reviewed, edited and published. It provides us with great new content and provides you with, if accepted, published work.

Our rants section allows young
people (aged 16-25) to talk about anything that's got on their wick. In the past, subjects have included celebrity advertising, Bob Geldof, size zero models and evil landlords.

Each rant is a single article, usually 600-800 words long, and the angrier the subject makes you the better! So if you'd like to get something off your
chest, or want to get some writing published, then get in touch and help out TheSite.org.

Best of all this is an entirely virtual opportunity, so it doesn't matter where you are in the UK, you can get involved.

The organisation

YouthNet aims to create a socially inclusive environment where young people living in the UK are engaged, informed and inspired to achieve their ambitions and dreams. We deliver high-quality information, signposting and frontline emotional support primarily through the internet, but increasingly through mobile phones, digital interactive TV and hand-held devices - the tools that are central to the way young people communicate. We do this through our two award-winning websites: TheSite.org, which provides support and guidance to 16-24 year olds; and do-it.org.uk, which links users to volunteering opportunities through the National Volunteering Database. We've formed groundbreaking partnerships, developed our very own software, helped to inspire people from diverse backgrounds to volunteer, and given millions of young people the advice and support they need to live their lives with confidence.
