Tread carefully and do not be hasty in your decisions - the first thing you must do is seek legal advice - your solicitor sounds almost as though he has been negligent in not informing you of your rihts (very few) change solicitor! Blackhams are the ones we use - helpful and very reasonable rates - get a copy of any agreement that may have been drawn up - your solicitor should have got this for you prior to exchange of contracts.
