Reduction in the rental income

I have reasonable "good" tenants and have reduced the rent since I feared them to leave. I feel a written confirmation is in place but I am concerned that if I do not mention the period (up till the end of the tenancy) and neither of us give notice at the end of this tenancy, the rent will automatically carry on in the amended figure. Please, could you advise me in this issue. Many thanks. Patrick.
