The best thing you can do is call the solicitors we quote - Blackhams - 0121 6437070 - they will give you a good idea of what is what - however I have to say that it sounds like you have been swindled and that the auction company should have made it clear that it was a sitting tenant alas they will only say that it is up to the purchaser to make enquiries - did your solicitor not notice?
