Termination of Periodic Tenancy

Comments

The tenants had a fixed term assured shorthold tenancy which expired at the end of time. It had provision for 2 montsh notice. they are still in the property but now want to give 1 month's notice under section 5 of the Housing Act 1988 - can they or do they have to give 2 months as per the old contract? Thanks.
