Is there an inventory - without one it is hard to prove what you say is correct. The best thing to so is to write down what needs to be done and what you intend to charge the tenant and forward this onto him. His charging you for the remaining oil is a bit pathetic but tenants try anything on nowadays - how much iol did you leave in the tank for him when he moved in?
