I would have thought you could off set them against tax but double check with your accountant. The searches are undertaken at all t imes to ensure that there are no plans to erect a giant supermarket next door etc - land registry is presumably because the price of the property is given to the land registry and they fill in the details as and when they change. The price therefore has risen so they need this information to place on record.
