Replacement Tenancy Agreements

Comments

My tenants started out with a AST which then became a periodic tenancy after the six months. They have now requested a replacement agreement to ensure they will have another 6 months safely with a roof over their heads. The original tenancy will need amending cos the letting agents I used initially have included clauses and statements at odds with statutary law and have omitted other important details. Will the signing of the new agreement make the old one (and all of its content) invalid and forgotten according to law - or will the original AST maintain its status and power until the tenants move out?
