I nearly signed an AST with a nice couple and then decided that I wanted to keep the flat for me to move back into when I return to America. Because I did this very late the couple had to move out of their flat and were homeless. I was ashamed that I had caused this and said they could stay in the place for six weeks until I returned at a reduced rent (they can't unpack!) There's no contract only verbal agreements. What would happen if after 6 weeks they weren't able to find another place and refused to move out. Where do I stand. I know I have been stupid!
