Landlords need to be aware that when insuring their buildings they are also covered for malicious damage by the tenant & friends etc. with no limit on the cover. If they do not include this cover or there is a limit of say £5,000 and there was a fire deliberately started by the tenant/friend etc. and the house burnt down, the landlord would either receive nothing from their insurer or the £5,000 and no more. So beware landlords check your insurance policies!
